Warwick holds steady in RIPEC ranking of municipal tax rates

WARWICK – Mayor Scott Avedisian said today that the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council report on municipal tax rates, released yesterday, shows that the city is doing well when it comes to the property tax burden placed on residents.

The report, issued earlier this week, finds that Warwick ranks 15 th highest of the state’s 39 cities and towns, one notch above last year’s rank.

“Clearly, this is the type of list where every community – for a change – wants to rank last,” Avedisian said. “While there is always room for improvement, I am pleased with our ranking, particularly when you consider the quality of services, programs and facilities we provide our residents as the state’s second largest community. This is a good indicator of the fiscal health of the city, and a sign that the steps we have been taking for the past six years are paying off for our taxpayers.”
