WARWICK – Mayor Scott Avedisian today announced the distribution of a total of $373,925 in contributive support funding to local non-profit agencies. Thirty-three organizations are receiving grant money in various amounts to fund programs, salaries and building improvement projects.
Other funding has been awarded as follows: $5,750 to the ALS Association; $21,000 to the Boys and Girls Club; $12,500 to the Everett C. Wilcox Health Center; $15,500 to CHILD Inc.; $13,375 to Cornerstone Adult Services; $2,250 to Day One; $27,000 to the Elizabeth Buffum Chase House; $7,750 to Friends Way; $500 to Girls RI; $29,000 to the House of Hope; $3,000 to the ImPossible Dream; $4,500 to the Indigenous People organization; $3,250 to JONAH; $54,500 to the Kent Center; $8,625 to Kent House; and $7,350 to the Kent YMCA.
Additionally, Meals on Wheels will receive $1,125; the Muscular Dystrophy Association, $1,550; the Ocean State Center for Independent Living (OSCIL), $5,000; the Police Athletic League, $1,500; Rhode Island Family Shelter, $18,750; RI Mentoring Partnership, $2,500; the Samaritans, $400; Saving Sight RI, $6,500; Shalom Housing, $4,625; the Trudeau Center, $20,250; VNA of Care New England, $25,750; VolunTeens, $2,500; the Volunteer Center of RI, $500; VOWS, $25,000, Warwick Museum, $3,875; Westbay Community Action, $35,250 and Warwick Interfaith Agency, $3,000.
