Wanted: Photos for 2007 City of Warwick calendar

WARWICK – Attention photographers: Do you have a photo that you would like to donate that reflects Warwick’s history, beauty or character? If so, Mayor Scott Avedisian and the city’s Recycling and Sanitation Division need your help.

The Recycling and Sanitation Division is currently preparing the city’s 2007 Warwick calendar, and wants residents to have an opportunity to showcase their work in the final product. Anyone with photos of Warwick’s events, historic locations, nature scenes or its people is invited to submit them for consideration in the calendar. Each month will feature a different photo, so only 12 pictures will be selected.

Digital photos should be an 8 x 10 version, 300 dpi. Those with hard copies of photos are asked to submit an 8 x 10 print, which will be scanned. Or, photos may be burned onto a CD or disc in tiff, epf or jpeg format. Please do not submit your original photo, as we cannot guarantee that they will be returned.

Photos may be emailed to: Chris.j.beneduce@warwickri.com. (Please note that the subject line should state: calendar photo submission) or may be dropped off at or mailed to: Department of Public Works, attn: Christopher Beneduce, 925 Sandy Lane, Warwick, RI 02889, during normal business hours.

Each submission should include a brief description, the name of the photographer (and the person submitting the photo, if they are different), and location of the scene.  Names of those whose photos are selected will be included in the calendar.

The deadline to submit photos is Friday, September 22, 2006. No late entries will be accepted.

Photographers should also be aware that the city’s Department of Tourism, Culture and Development is always looking for good photos of Warwick. If you’d like to submit photos to that department as well, the format and request for photograph information is the same, but email the pictures to Karen.j.jedson@warwickri.com or drop off or mail them to her at: Warwick City Hall, 3275 Post Road, Warwick, RI  02886.

(Please note: the city does not pay for photographs.)
