PUBLIC NOTICE: Taxiway Rehabilitation Project at T.F. Green Will Alter
Air Traffic for a 12-Day Period

(WARWICK, R.I.) September 28, 2006 – On October 10, 2006, air traffic operations at T.F. Green Airport will change for a 12-day period to address safety and operational measures during a temporary phase of the current taxiway rehabilitation project.

"I want to assure the people of the City of Warwick that this temporary 12-day change in air traffic is necessary to maintain the taxiways and the approaches to the runways,” said Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian. “It does not mean that any expansion is being done and it merely represents a commitment to continued safety and security at T.F. Green."
The project includes repaving of Taxiway “T” to improve safety conditions. While the intersection of two taxiways is being closed, certain aircraft will need to use alternate runways for departures and landings. Nearby residents may experience varying noise levels and patterns during the 12-day period.

“During this time, it is our intention to do everything possible to comply with noise abatement standards,” said Mark Brewer, president and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. “We’d like to thank the citizens of Warwick in advance for their understanding during this critical, temporary phase of construction.”
