RIRRC, City to host household hazardous waste collection

WARWICK – The Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation, in cooperation with the city, will bring its Eco-Depot to the Department of Public Works, 925 Sandy Lane, on Saturday, October 21, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mayor Scott Avedisian said today.

The Eco-Depot allows residents to dispose of household hazardous waste safely. This type of waste includes unused products that are toxic, corrosive, flammable or poisonous, including cleaners, pesticides, automotive lubricants and home improvement supplies like paints, thinners, stain, fertilizer, weed killers and pool chemicals. Household hazardous waste also have labels on them with words like “caution,” “danger” or “warning.”

This service is free, but appointments are necessary. Interested residents should call 942-1430, ext. 241.
