City, Warwick hotels offering Stay, Park & Fly program
Program offers convenient, stress-free travel option in time for holidays
WARWICK – The city’s annual Stay, Park & Fly travel package program, meant to help make flying out of T.F. Green more convenient for area travelers, is now underway, Mayor Scott Avedisian announced today.
The 11-year-old program is a collaborative effort between the city’s Department of Tourism, Culture and Development and Warwick hotels.
The city is advertising its Stay, Park & Fly program to the public via a monthly direct mail campaign to travel agents, email, in numerous publications and on the Internet – a component added last year that proved very successful. Throughout the end of this year and into 2007, ads will run in Redbook, Good Housekeeping, and Family Circle magazines, on travel web pages, and in Chamber Works, the member newsletter of the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, the program will be featured on the city’s and state’s tourism websites at www.visitwarwickri.com and www.visitrhodeisland.com.
Stay, Park & Fly encourages travelers to sleep overnight at one of 12 participating hotels in Warwick prior to their scheduled flight from T.F. Green Airport. Spending the night in such close proximity to the airport allows for an easier day of departure to one’s destination. Free amenities, such as parking, continental breakfast and a ride to and from the airport are offered to help reduce stress one may feel trying to get to the airport on time.
Most hotels will provide Stay, Park & Fly guests with the following perks: a special reduced room rate, free parking at the hotel for up to two weeks, continental breakfast and shuttle service to and from T.F. Green Airport.
The Stay, Park & Fly travel package remains in effect from November 1, 2006 through April 1, 2007.
The city initially created its Stay, Park & Fly travel package program in an effort to generate more customer traffic to local hotels and area businesses.
