City’s 2007 calendars to arrive
in residents’ mailboxes next week
WARWICK – The always-anticipated annual City of Warwick calendars will be arriving in residents’ mailboxes by the end of next week, Mayor Scott Avedisian announced today.
The 12-month calendar features rich color photographs of local events, places and scenery, submitted by local citizens. It’s prepared by the Department of Public Works’ Recycling and Sanitation Division and contains information regarding yard waste schedules, recycling information, trash collection delays, automated trash collection tips, where to purchase yard waste bags, how to dispose of holiday items and municipal recycling facility hours. It also has a listing of city departments and their contact information, as well as the locations of Warwick library branches and fire stations.
“The City of Warwick calendar has been a favorite of our residents since 2001, the first year we published it,” Avedisian said. “This 2007 edition contains a lot of information about trash and recycling collection, so I ask all of our residents to keep the calendars in a convenient location throughout the year.”
Avedisian also thanked all those who submitted photos for consideration.
“We had many great entries and truly appreciate the willingness of our residents to share their talent and their images of Warwick,” he said.
One calendar per household is being mailed. If a calendar has not arrived by the end of the month, please call the Department of Recycling and Sanitation at 738-2000, ext. 6525.
