Avedisian applauds Hittner’s appointment
WARWICK – Mayor Scott Avedisian today applauded Governor Donald Carcieri’s appointment of Dr. Kathleen Hittner to replace Jim Rosati as chair of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation Board.
Avedisian, who spoke with his office this morning from the Middle East, where he is traveling as a member of the Aspen Institute’s Rodel Fellowship program, called Hittner “a well-respected, thoughtful individual who has demonstrated time and again a willingness to listen to all sides of an argument before making a decision. She will do a great job in this position.
“Governor Carcieri has made a wonderful decision in this appointment, and I thank him for listening to the concerns of our office and appointing a resident of Warwick to this position,” Avedisian continued. “My staff and I look forward to working with Dr. Hittner, Mr. Brewer and the RIAC board to further improve the working relationship between the City and RIAC.”
