Avedisian announces contributive support allocations
WARWICK – Mayor Scott Avedisian today announced the distribution of a total of $371,075 in contributive support funding to local non-profit agencies. Thirty-two organizations are receiving grant money in various amounts.
Funding has been awarded as follows: $6,000 to the ALS Association; $21,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs; $13,000 for the dental program at the Everett C. Wilcox Health Center; $14,125 to CHILD Inc.; $13,500 to Cornerstone Adult Services; $2,250 to Day One; $27,250 to the Elizabeth Buffum Chase House; $8,700 to Friends Way; $29,500 to the House of Hope; $3,000 to the ImPossible Dream; $4,500 to the Indigenous People organization; $4,000 to JONAH; $50,000 to the Kent Center; $8,625 to Kent House; and $7,000 to the Kent YMCA.
Additionally, Meals on Wheels will receive $1,025; the Ocean State Center for Independent Living (OSCIL), $5,000; the Police Athletic League, $1,500; Rhode Island Family Shelter, $18,750; RI Mentoring Partnership, $2,500; the Samaritans, $900; Saving Sight RI, $6,625; Shalom Housing, $4,500; the Trudeau Center, $22,750; VNA of Care New England, $25,750; VOWS, $24,500, Warwick Museum, $3,375; Westbay Community Action, $35,250; Warwick Interfaith Alliance for Affordable Assisted Living, $3,000; Sargent Rehabilitation Center, $2,000; American Red Cross, RI Chapter, $1,000; and Literacy Volunteers, $200
