Avedisian, Board of Canvassers announce changes
to polling locations for Presidential Primary March 4
Having one polling location per ward will save approximately $30,000
WARWICK – Mayor Scott Avedisian and the Board of Canvassers announced today that one polling location per ward will be open for voters for the Presidential Primary on March 4. The decision, which was approved by the state Board of Elections, will mean savings of approximately $30,000 for that one day, Avedisian said.
Avedisian said that, after careful examination of turnout during similar elections, he and the Board of Canvassers are confident that poll workers can accommodate all voters of one ward at one location without disruption or unnecessary waiting periods.
Voting locations will be as follows:
Ward One – Aspray Boat House, Two East View Street (Pawtuxet Park)
Ward Two – Pilgrim Senior Center, 27 Pilgrim Parkway
Ward Three – Warwick Public Library, 600 Sandy Lane
Ward Four – William Shields Post, 622 West Shore Road
Ward Five – St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 358 Warwick Neck Avenue
Ward Six – Warwick Veterans Memorial High School, 2401 West Shore Road
Ward Seven – City Hall, 3275 Post Road
Ward Eight – Warwick Police Department, 99 Veterans Memorial Drive
Ward Nine – First Baptist Church, 540 Cowesett Road
