Avedisian announces partnership to bring low-cost
Canadian
prescriptions to retirees, city workers
WARWICK – Mayor Scott Avedisian today announced a partnership aimed at allowing retired city employees and current municipal workers to voluntarily purchase low-cost Canadian pharmacy prescriptions. Avedisian estimates that this initiative would result in city budget savings of up to 40 percent on current prescription drug costs.
Working with the Springfield, Massachusetts-based CanaRx Services, Inc., Avedisian seeks to replicate the success that cities in Massachusetts and Illinois have realized through this program in order to save Warwick taxpayers money, he said.
