Statistical
revaluation complete;
residents to receive notices next week
WARWICK – Mayor Scott Avedisian announced today that the statistical revaluation
of residential, commercial and industrial properties throughout the city is
complete. Notices will be mailed Tuesday, March 9, to all residents regarding
the new value of their property.
On average, the values of commercial and industrial properties have increased between 50 and 60 percent, according to Tax Assessor Eileen Johnson. The average increase on most residential property is 100 percent. New value of waterfront properties is even greater.
Six operators from the Cole Layer Trumble Company, which performed the revaluations, will be on hand to schedule property reviews. Residents must request reviews by March 25; reviews will take approximately 15 minutes and will take place Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be some weekend and evening sessions available for those individuals who are unable to make an appointment during regular business hours.
The Assessor’s Office
will be online in the near future for property information.
