announces appointments
to Fair Housing Committee
WARWICK – Mayor Scott Avedisian today announced his appointments to the
Fair Housing Committee he recently established by Executive Order.
The five-person board is charged with helping the city in its efforts to develop programs, educational initiatives and outreach activities as part of a long-range strategy to retain and increase the amount of affordable housing in the city.
The appointees are: Judy Earle, executive director of the Elizabeth Buffum Chase House; Jean Olivier, director of the House of Hope; Maureen Volpe, the city’s director of Human Services; Sharon Conard-Wells, of the West Elmwood Housing Foundation; and Leah Prata, of Centreville Savings Bank.
“These
individuals bring a wealth of experience to the Fair Housing Committee,”
Avedisian said. “Their knowledge of the city and the issues related to
affordable housing, together with their genuine desire to improve life for our
residents, will be invaluable as we move forward with our long-term plans to
increase the amount of affordable housing options within the City of Warwick.”
