WARWICK – The city will hold an open house and open registration for fall programs at the Buttonwoods Community Center on Wednesday, September 14 from 4 to 8 p.m., Mayor Scott Avedisian announced today. Residents of all ages are cordially invited to attend.
The fall schedule offers a wide range of programs for children, teens and adults of all ability levels, and instructors will be on hand throughout the evening to answer questions, provide program information and give demonstrations, Avedisian said. Refreshments will also be served.
The Parks and Recreation Department, in cooperation with the city’s Youth Programs and Juvenile Services Department, are sponsoring everything from pre-school learn to skate, yoga and story time programs to a range of after-school activities, including a martial arts competition team, radKIDS, homework help, arts and crafts projects and volunteer opportunities.
Adults can try their hand at a number of things, including painting, knitting, jewelry making, exercise programs and computer instruction. Stress management workshops, flu and Hepatitis B vaccination clinics, diabetes outpatient education clinics and ongoing wellness programs are also on tap for the fall.
Some of the programs include a fee and/or cost for materials. Child care is also offered for an additional fee for select programs.
