Searching for parcels
The property search sub menu (under the site banner) lists several search engine options that are available to help you find the real estate records you are looking for.
Simply select the desired search engine option and enter the requested information in the form that appears to begin your database search. After you submit your search you will be given a list of all matching records to choose from. In all cases, if exact searches do not return any records, try a more general search or use a wildcard (*) and then pick the desired record from the list that is returned.
Once you have executed your search, you will be shown a list of properties that match your search criteria. Use the navigation buttons at the bottom of the list to page though the results to find the property you are looking for. Clicking on specific account (or parcel numbers) will display detailed information for the record.
Owner Search
Enter the full name (last name first) of the owner you are searching for. If you do not find the record you are looking for, try a more general search by entering just the last name. If you are unsure of spelling, try using the first 3 or 4 letters of the last name or use the wildcard (*).
Address Search
Enter the street name (required), the number (optional), suffix (optional) and direction (optional) of the property you are looking for. Because of street naming conventions, the search engine may not find the exact record you have entered. In general, the best way to search for a property by address is to only enter the street name without any suffix (st, rd, ave) or direction (N, S, SE). The search engine will provide you with a list to choose from. Leaving the number field blank will return all addresses on the matching street.
Account Search
For either an account or parcel number search, enter the exact number using the format example shown on the page.
Navigating through the records
Once you have selected a record from the search list, you will be presented with the detailed information for that property along with several tools to help you navigate through the various items of information that are available. This may include basic property details, assessment information, tax records, permits, sales information, building photos and sketches (layouts), and tax/property maps. Additional tools may also be available to generate summary reports, sales comparables, or radius (buffer) reports. The specific tools available will depend on how the site was configured.
Record Details Menu
The Record Details Menu in the left margin allows you to view information on specific aspects of the current property record. Clicking on a button in the left menu will retrieve the corresponding information. The button will change color to indicate that it is active. In some cases, no information may exist for a specific button in which case a “No data available” message will be displayed. For example, a Residential property will not have Commercial information.
Multiple records and Card Navigation
When viewing details of the property you may notice a small navigation tool in the top right corner of a data table. When this tool appears it indicates that there are multiple records related to the item selected. (for example multiple owners, sales, permits etc.) or that there are multiple property cards.
Use the forward and back arrows to move through the multiple records.
Search Manager Toolbox
The Search Manager toolbox allows you to navigate through or manipulate your Search List. A Search List is a list of search results matching the query entered. You can navigate through the records in your Search List by using the forward and back arrows. The information you are currently viewing will be displayed for the next record you navigate to (for example, if you are viewing a property sketch you would continue to see sketches as you went from record to record — this holds true for Maps and all other Record Detail buttons). As you move through the Search List, the Current Record display will be updated to reflect the property ID you are viewing. Use the View Search List option to display a full listing of all the records found in your original search. Use the Refine Search to modify the criteria related to your initial search.
Printing
Each Search Results page contains a small icon on the right hand side.
Clicking this will open a separate browser displaying only the pertinent information. You can then use the Browser's Print tool to print this data to a printer.
