WATER
The City of Warwick is served by the Kent County Water Authority,
the Warwick Water Authority and the
Providence Water Supply Board serving the majority of the City’s
residents. The Director of the water
systems of the City of Warwick controls all water distribution and
all water rates within the city. The
Providence Water Supply Board serves Cranston, Providence, Johnston,
North Providence and parts of the
City of Warwick and the Town of Smithfield. The system is one of
the country’s best, both as to quality
and quantity. The Supply Board gets its water supply from the Scituate
Reservoir, located in the Town of
Scituate, and five tributary reservoirs. The entire watershed covers
93 square miles. The reservoir area is
23.93 square miles. The six reservoirs have a total capacity of
over 41 billion gallons and a total water
surface area of 4,557 acres.
SEWERS
The sewer facility is located at 300 Service Avenue covers an area
of 40 acres. The capacity of the existing
facility is 5 million gallons daily. The City of Warwick expects
to have 90% of the City hooked up to sewers

ELECTRICITY
The Narragansett
Electric Company, part of the National Grid system, serves the
City of Warwick and
surrounding communities and maintains its main plant and offices
in Providence. Information concerning

GAS
Natural gas is supplied by the New
England Gas Company, which maintains its operating facilities
and
offices in Providence. Information concerning rates may be obtained

OIL
Industrial oil is obtained in sufficient quantities from local distributors.
Fuel may be obtained through the
Port of Providence by low cost water transportation. Major oil companies
have storage and distribution
facilities in Providence and nearby East Providence. For a listing
