Message from the Warwick Chief of Police PDF Print E-mail
I would like to welcome you to our website and encourage you to take some time to review the vast amount of information contained within the Warwick Police Department's Annual Report. The Annual Report provides an overview of the Warwick Police Department and details various yearly statistical information that you may find useful. This includes data relating to calls for service, response times and crime reports, as well as victim and offender information.

The men and women of the Warwick Police Department have continued to work in conjunction with our elected officials and citizenry to provide service to the City of Warwick that can be described as nothing less then exemplary. Community participation and involvement has continued to be a cornerstone of our effectiveness in deterring criminal activity within the city, and ensuring that Warwick remains one of the safest cities in the Nation to raise a family.

Due to ongoing technological advancements, such as the implementation of a new Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management System, information which had been previously inaccessible to officers on the street is now readily available. In December of 2002, the Warwick Police Department began the installation of forty-four laptop computers into its fleet of patrol and detective vehicles. The Mobile Digital Terminal Project (MDT), was made possible with funding offered through the United States Department of Justice under the Office of Community Oriented Policing (COPS). The COPS M.O.R.E. Grant has allowed the Warwick Police department to build upon its existing technology and outfit the fleet with state of the art laptop computers. Officers now have the ability to run wanted persons and stolen property checks while remaining in the field. As a result, officer safety, as well as the safety of the community has been significantly enhanced. Officers are now able to provide a higher level of service to the public, while ensuring that more officers are available for service at any given time.
