Warwick Umpires Code of Conduct

  • I will make all call clearly and loudly.
  • I will be on tine and attend all scheduled games.
  • I will remain fair and neutral throughout the entire game.
  • I will be respectful of managers, players, and fans.
  • I will discuss calls with managers/coaches when asked respectfully.
  • I will not allow personal relationships or past experiences influence game calls.
  • I will be consistent when ejecting managers/coaches/players for rules violations.
  • I will maintain a profession appearance (correct hat, shirt, pants and shoes).
  • I will not use foul or abusive language to players/coaches, or fans.
  • I will hustle throughout my game.
  • I will enforce all rules as set forth by the league.
  • I will report any misconduct by players, coaches, managers, or fans.
  • I will not turn in a assignment to accept another from a different association.
  • I will attend WUA Meetings/clinics to the best of my ability.
  • I will keep the safety of all involved in mind when starting or continuing a game.
  • Umpires will be reviewed/Evaluated through the season.

If an Umpire is unable to attend a scheduled game

  • He or She is to notify the commissioner as soon as possible by telephone.
  • Failure to notify the commissioner will result in the following:
    1. First Incident…………Warning.
    2. Second Incident………Loss of future assignments.
 

Athletic Organizations

As part of an ongoing effort to promote recreational and athletic programs available throughout the city, the Parks and Recreation Department offers free webspace at warwickri.gov for any qualified Warwick group.

From fishing and boating to beaches and cool breezes, Warwick's 39 miles of coastline along Narragansett Bay provides ample opportunities for waterfront enthusiasts!

INSTRUCTORS WANTED

The City of Warwick Recreation Dept is in search of individuals with special skills they are willing to share with all age groups and ability levels. Instructors are key in our efforts to meet the lifelong learning and recreational needs of the Warwick citizens. Classes can be a onetime workshop or a series.
Some examples of classes but not limited to:

Fitness/Dance
Fine Arts/Crafts/Decorating
Self Defense/Martial Arts
Music
Cuisine/Nutrition
Language
