Fire Safety Day to be held Saturday PDF Print E-mail

The Fire Department’s Annual Fire Safety Day will be held rain or shine this Saturday, October 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at fire headquarters, located in Apponaug, 111 Veterans Memorial Drive (adjacent to the police station).

The day will include a variety of events, including the following demonstrations the Jaws of Life/Heavy Duty Rescue, the thermo imaging camera, the Warwick Fire Department Dive Team, and the Rhode Island State Police Roll-Over Simulator. There will be tours of the Fire Safety Trailer and an opportunity to learn CPR. Kent hospital staff will be on hand to provide information on cardiac disease, stroke and H1NI (swine flu).

Free pizza and refreshments will be provided courtesy of Papa Gino’s and Wal-Mart.

Children and parents will be able to enter raffles for a chance to win a number of terrific prizes provided by local businesses. In addition, free Halloween safety gifts for children will be distributed.

Parking is available behind fire headquarters, at the police station and in front of Gorton’s Pond.
