Warwick is within easy reach of the South County vacation area which includes ocean front beaches, woodlands, ponds and streams.  Also, each school in the city is equipped with at least one large playground located away from major thoroughfares.

Some notable parks within Warwick include:

Warwick City Park is located in the Buttonwoods beach area and has 3 baseball fields, picnic areas and shelters, 3 miles of paved bicycle paths, tennis courts and toilet facilities.

Conimicut Point Park is located on Point Avenue. This park provides scenic views and a peaceful setting.

Oakland Beach Park is a waterfront park that has a beach tended by a lifeguard during the summer, and is located on Oakland Beach Avenue.

Pawtuxet Park is located off Narragansett Parkway on the Pawtuxet Cove. This waterfront park has a charming reproduction of a Victorian gazebo, picnic sites, and park benches.

Apponaug Park is a small park near the center of Apponaug containing the Apponaug fountain and victorian benches.

Clegg Field is a lighted softball field located on Winter Avenue in Conimicut. There is seating for approximately 2000, plus parking for 200.

Goddard Memorial State Park is a 472 acre park located in the Potowomut section of Warwick. The park provides picnic grounds, salt-water bathing, bath-houses, a concession stand and a golf course.

George Salter Memorial Grove is a scenic park which offers a public boat ramp and picnic areas overlooking Narragansett Bay.

Athletic Organizations

As part of an ongoing effort to promote recreational and athletic programs available throughout the city, the Parks and Recreation Department offers free webspace at warwickri.gov for any qualified Warwick group.


Warwick's Waterfront

From fishing and boating to beaches and cool breezes, Warwick's 39 miles of coastline along Narragansett Bay provides ample opportunities for waterfront enthusiasts!

INSTRUCTORS WANTED

The City of Warwick Recreation Dept is in search of individuals with special skills they are willing to share with all age groups and ability levels. Instructors are key in our efforts to meet the lifelong learning and recreational needs of the Warwick citizens. Classes can be a onetime workshop or a series.
Some examples of classes but not limited to:

Fitness/Dance
Fine Arts/Crafts/Decorating
Self Defense/Martial Arts
Music
Cuisine/Nutrition
Language
