PUBLIC NOTICE HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN UPDATE

The City of Warwick Hazard Mitigation Committee is in the process of updating the 2005 Hazard Mitigation Plan.

Purpose: The purpose of the City of Warwick Hazard Mitigation Plan is to provide comprehensive guidance for hazard mitigation in the City of Warwick. This Plan has been developed to help make our homes, businesses, and communities as safe as possible against the impacts of hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, winter storms, wildfires and other natural hazards. It contains a wealth of geographic and demographic information, along with a thorough assessment of the natural hazards faced throughout the City.

Public Comment: The City of Warwick Hazard Mitigation Committee is currently accepting written comments, suggestions, and/or recommendation on the existing plan.

Comments on the existing plan are due no later than Tuesday November 30, 2010.

Warwick Police Department - The Warwick Police Department is creating a partnership with the community to provide quality policing for the protection of life and property, the investigation of crime and the maintenance of public safety.

Warwick Fire Department - The City of Warwick is serviced by eight fire stations comprised of nine engines, three ladders, four rescues, one special hazards unit, and one dive team. Over the course of the average year, Warwick's Fire Department answers over 12,000 calls.
