Mayor's Advisory Commission On Disabilities

The Warwick Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Disabilities was established in April, 1978 by Mayor Joseph Walsh to address “barriers in our community that may affect mental and/or physical disabilities and to generate citizen awareness of those issues.” The purpose of the Commission is to develop and maintain a comprehensive and coordinated information/advisory network system in Warwick. The Commission recommends priorities for action to the Mayor.

Services include but are not limited to: (1) continuous assessment of barriers that may affect individuals with disability/special needs; (2) planning and development of new programs; (3) recommending priorities for legislative action and; (4) monitoring existing programs.
