CHAPTER 150
PUBLIC LAWS OF RHODE ISLAND, 1960
AN ACT Revising the Charter of the City of Warwick, and in Amendment of Chapter 1852 of the Public Laws, 1931, Entitled "An Act to Establish the City of Warwick," as Amended.
It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 1852 of the public laws, 1931, entitled, "An act to establish the city of Warwick," as amended by chapter 968 of the public laws, 1940, and by chapter 2326 of the public laws, 1949, is hereby further amended in its entirety to read as follows:
ARTICLE I.
POWERS OF THE CITY
1-1. Name.
The name of the city shall be "City of Warwick."
1-2. Body politic.
The inhabitants of the city shall continue to be a body corporate and politic and such shall have, exercise, and enjoy all of the rights, immunities, powers, and privileges, and shall be subject to all of the duties and obligations pertaining to and incumbent upon the city as a municipal corporation.
1-3. Exercise of powers.
All powers of the city shall be exercised in the manner prescribed by this Charter, or, if not so prescribed, in such manner as shall be provided by ordinance or resolution of the council.
1-4. Inclusive nature of powers.
The enumeration of any particular power in this Charter shall be in no case held to be exclusive. All such powers shall be construed as in addition and supplementary to the powers conferred in general terms.
