Sec. 64-1. Mayor.

The mayor shall receive an annual salary of $70,008.75 for the year commencing January 1995, $73,509.18 for the year commencing January 1996, and $77,184.00 for the year commencing January 1997, and thereafter, until the year commencing January, 2007, and thereafter, when the mayor shall receive an annual salary of $100,000.00, and such other benefits as shall be prescribed by ordinance.

Sec. 64-2. Members of city council.

In accordance with the provisions of P.L. 1960, ch. 150, § 2-3, members of the city council shall receive an annual salary of $5,500.00 for the term commencing January 3, 1985, and thereafter, until the year commencing January, 2007, and thereafter, when each member of the city council shall receive an annual salary equal to ten percent of the authorized salary of the mayor, and such other benefits as shall be prescribed by ordinance. The president of the city council shall receive $500.00 annually in addition to the annual salary of city council members provided herein.

Sec. 64-3. Members of school committee.

Commencing January 1, 1988, the annual compensation for members of the school committee shall be $4,000.00. The chairperson shall receive an additional $100.00.

Sec. 64-4. Municipal court judges.

The compensation of the judges of the municipal court shall be set by the mayor with the approval of the city council, but shall not exceed the sum of $16,000.00, excluding the cost of health insurance or payments made by the city in lieu of health insurance.

Sec. 64-5. Other officials.

(a) The monthly compensation for the following officials shall be as provided in this subsection:

(1) Building code board of appeals:

a. Chairperson: $25.00.

b. Members: $25.00.

(2) Board of canvassers:

a. Chairperson: $112.50.

b. Members: $104.17.

(3) Economic development commission:

a. Chairperson: $37.50.

b. Members: $25.00.

(4) Harbormasters: $125.00.

(5) Housing authority:

a. Chairperson: $141.67.

b. Members: $125.00.

(6) Minimum housing board of review:

a. Chairperson: $37.50.

b. Members: $25.00.

(7) Personnel hearing board:

a. Chairperson: $37.50.

b. Members: $25.00.

(8) Planning board:

a. Chairperson: $70.83.

b. Members: $62.50.

(9) Board of public safety:

a. Chairperson: $241.67.

b. Members: $229.17.

(10) Retirement board:

a. Chairperson: $54.17.

b. Members: $41.67.

(11) Sewer authority:

a. Chairperson: $262.50.

b. Members: $250.00.

(12) Sewer board of review:

a. Chairperson: $45.83.

b. Members: $33.33.

(13) Tax assessment board of review:

a. Chairperson: $45.83.

b. Members: $33.33.

(14) Zoning board of review:

a. Chairperson: $229.17.

b. Members: $208.33.

(b) The yearly compensation for members of the Kent County Water Authority is $3,500.00. Although this is not paid through the city, there is a city representative appointed by the mayor.
