White Goods Recycling Program

Appliances, such as stoves, washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, air conditioners, water heaters, etc. are part of Warwick’s mandatory recycling program. The City avoids costly tipping fees at the landfill by recycling appliances and generates income by selling the goods for scrap metal.

When recycling appliances here are a few things to know:

  • Residents on the Automated system must call 732-9589 for collection of their appliances.
  • Put white goods at curbside on your regular trash day by 7 am.
  • For safety sake, please remove all doors from refrigerators and freezers. Secure all other doors with tape.
  • If you don't wish to wait for curbside pick-up, you may bring your goods to the Warwick Municipal Recycling Facility -- Monday - Saturday, 7:30 am to 3:00 pm (residential appliances only; no commercial appliances)
  • Once the White Goods are brought to the Municipal Recycling Facility, the CFC's (chlorofluorocarbons) are removed from the refrigerators and air conditioners. These ozone-depleting chemicals must be separated into special tanks for resale or reuse before the goods can be sold for scrap. Eventually the metal in these Goods will be recycled into appliances, car parts, toasters, etc rather than taking up space in our landfill.
