Cardboard Recycling

Happy cardboard man
One of the most frequently asked questions received by the recycling office is “Why didn’t the garbage or recycling truck take my cardboard?”

Cardboard, which is a state mandated recyclable item, is collected by the recycling trucks only. To be collected it must be flattened, bundled and tied in 3 ft. x 3 ft. sections with the bundles no larger than 8 inches thick. It must be bundled in order to fit into the side compartment of the recycling truck.

All cardboard must be recycled. Cardboard boxes cannot be used as trash containers

In addition to curbside collections, cardboard along with any other paper products can be dropped off at the Warwick Municipal Recycling Facility where they do not need to be bundled and tied.
