Introduction
to Yard Waste
Warwick's
yard waste collection program, in effect since 1993, collects
grass leave and brush from curbside once per week in the Spring
and Summer months (starting the last week of March) and every
other week in the Fall (See Fall Schedules). Grass, leaves and
garden debris must be placed in 30 gallon biodegradable paper
yard waste bags or in barrels with the "Yard Debris Only"
stickers. Stickers can be obtained at the Dept. of Public Grass,

paper yard waste bags or in barrels with the "Yard Debris
Only" stickers. Stickers can be obtained at the Dept. of
Public Works, 925 Sandy Lane. Branches must be tied in bundles
4 feet in length and placed next to your bags or barrels. A separate
truck will collect them.
The City of Warwick
recycles approximately 12,000 tons of yard waste each year. Once
collected from the curb, the material is brought the Municipal
Recycling Facility, located behind the Mickey Stevens
Sports Complex, where it is composted into a rich soil amendment
after six to eight months of processing.
