What the Students Are Saying:

We took computer classes at the Pilgrim Senior Center because we wanted to know and were eager to learn all the different things a computer could do. For example, research, creating tables, preparing outlines and graphs to show comparisons, setting up and preparing business and personal letters, learning how to retrieve a document from Microsoft Word, learning how to print out a few paragraphs contained within an entire document, learning how to forwards a document with an attachment, sending information from the hard drive to a floppy drive, learning about the filing system and about the maintenance of a computer.

We appreciated having Kitty Pucci as our supportive and knowledgeable instructor. Having classes during daytime hours was a plus in meeting our needs. The class size was ideal for individualized instruction to be given when it was needed. To us, the greatest advantage of having taken the classes is our sense of accomplishment. We are in awe with all that we have learned from participating in the classes offered. We found the relaxed atmospehere, the encouragement, and the open dialogue offered for any questions before the actual lesson began, to be most informative and helpful. We enjoyed communicating with the many personalities in the class. Being in class was a rewarding and educational experience for us.

-Maureen and Winnie O'Brien

Greenwich Farms is looking for volunteers to help teach residents to use the computer in a one-on-one environment. If you are interested, please contact Karen DeFelice, the Volunteer Coordinator for the Westbay RSVP program, at 739-1359.
