- Noise Management - NOISE MONITORING In 1998, the Rhode Island Legislature enacted Title 1, Aeronautics, Chapter 1-5; Permanent Noise Monitoring Act – Aircraft Operations Monitoring System (AOMS). This Act required the Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) to install an aircraft operations monitoring system, and collect and report a summary of the collected data on a quarterly basis.

State and local governments do not have any regulatory authority over such operations as navigable airspace, flight paths, or altitudes. RIAC provides answers to commonly asked questions and concerns.
