“Ready”, “Set”, “Go”: Small Business Start-Up Series

 

Join the SBA’s Rhode Island District Office for our, “Ready, Set, Go: Small Business Start-Up Series”! In this three-part series you will be given the tools necessary to lay the groundwork for your new small business.  Our group of industry experts will help new and aspiring entrepreneurs like you launch and sustain your new business idea from start to finish.

The “Ready” module discusses what a start-up business owner should do to get organized before opening the business.  From writing your business plan (and where to get help with that), to financing needs, business registration, licenses, and more, this module will equip you with the necessary information that your new business needs.  We will be joined by the Rhode Island Secretary of State’s Business Services Office, as they walk you through a live demo of the services that office provides, as well as the requirements for all businesses in the state.  So, whether you are in the idea phase, ready to open, or have just opened, this session will have something for everyone!

The “Set” module will cover the types of financing and sources of capital available to a small business (whether a new business or already established), as well as what lenders look for in a loan application.  You won’t want to miss this interactive session as you will hear directly from two local lenders who will discuss what they look for in a borrower and answer all your questions live!

The “Go” module will be another information packed, interactive session as we cover how and where to find additional support and education resources throughout the State of Rhode Island. We will be joined by SCORE RI as they discuss how they are able to assist small businesses through free mentoring, counseling, and training. Learn how they can assist business at all stages at the business cycle no matter what the topic is. No matter your industry, location, or experience, if you have a dream, the SBA and its partners are here to help you realize it.
