Community Development Block Grant Program
The City of Warwick is currently accepting applications for funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The CDBG deadline for submitting a FY 2015 application is January 16, 2015 at 3:00 PM.
Fiscal year 2016 will represent the 41st year that the City of Warwick has received Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. While the CDBG program continues to enjoy widespread popularity in Congress, future program funding is always uncertain. For fiscal year 2016, we are estimating that we will receive approximately $866,062 in CDBG funds.
Over the years, the residents of the City of Warwick have benefited in many ways from programs receiving CDBG funding, both programs operated by the City and those operated by non-governmental agencies. For more information regarding activities funded, you can request a copy of our most recent Consolidated Plan Action Plan.
A separate application must be completed for each project that you are proposing. Typically, demand for project funding exceeds the amount of funds that are available. Because of the competition for limited funds, many applicants cannot be recommended for funding and many are recommended for funding at less than the amounts they requested. Competition is most intense in the public service category.

The deadline for submission of applications is Friday, January 16, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. Any application received in our office after the deadline may not be considered for funding in the upcoming year. **Please note: If you are submitting an application for a Public Facilities & Site Improvement Project a pre-submission meeting to review your application is now a necessary step in the application process. Please contact me prior to the deadline to schedule this meeting.
